Dr Anthony Chuang

Dr Anthony Chuang MBBS MMed FRACP FACC is an interventional and general cardiologist. Anthony studied Medicine at the University of NSW. He subsequently obtained A Master of Medicine at Sydney University and underwent cardiology training at Flinders Medical Centre.

After being admitted to the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Cardiology), he undertook a 2-year cardiac intervention and structural heart fellowship at St Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada, under the mentor-ship of Professor John Webb, one of the world-leading pioneers of trans-catheter valve intervention. During his fellowship, Anthony further specialised in cardiac CT and is an accredited Level B CTCA specialist (highest level).

Anthony is dedicated to improving the care of cardiac patients and has been actively involved in research, contributing to over 20 peer-reviewed publications, including the Journal of American College of Cardiology, Circulation, and International Journal of Cardiology. He has received multiple awards and recognitions including Finalist for the Young Investigator Competition (ACC), Best Research Student Publication (Flinders University), as well as the RACP Vincent Fairfax and Research Entry Scholarships for two consecutive years (2019, 2020).

In 2019, Anthony collaborated with RACP-SA and developed the first ‘Evidence-based medicine’ educational course in SA, which has become an annual event. He has also been a clinical lecturer at the Flinders University for the past 7 years.

Born in Taiwan and raised in Sydney, Anthony is fluent in Chinese Mandarin. In his non-work hours, he enjoys spending time with his young family and running and is a regular participant in the City-to-Bay fun run.

Anthony strongly believes in patient-centered care and is keen to establish a collaborative relationship with referring GPs. He is happy to be contacted for clinical advice or general feedback.
