SA Heart welcomes Dr Luan Huynh who has joined the team at our Findon, St Agnes and North Adelaide locations.
Dr Luan Huynh is a cardiologist with special interest in echocardiography, valvular heart disease, difficult to control hypertension, and perioperative cardiac care. He will join the SA Heart team on Monday February 6th 2012..
Having graduated from Adelaide University in 2001 and completed internship the following year at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Luan commenced postgraduate studies at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital before commencing his PhD at Flinders University in 2006 in cardiovascular epidemiology. He has recently submitted his PhD thesis titled “Improving the Management of Acute Coronary Syndromes in Australia”. He has contributed to cardiovascular reference books and is published in medical journals.
Specialty cardiology training was undertaken at Flinders Medical Centre and he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2009.
Dr Huynh subsequently undertook a subspecialty clinical fellowship in echocardiography at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He has advanced expertise in echocardiography, myocardial contrast echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiography.
Dr Huynh sees patients with the full spectrum of adult cardiology problems, but has special interests in echocardiography, valvular heart disease, difficult to control hypertension, and perioperative cardiovascular risk management.
Luan is now consulting regularly at our Findon, St Agnes and North Adelaide locations.
