SA Heart cardiologist, Dr Richard Hillock recently completed the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) 2013 Ride to Cure Diabetes. This was the 4th time Richard has competed in the ride as well as being the 10th anniversary year in 2013.
Since 2004 the Ride to Cure Diabetes has played a leadership role in driving progress towards find a cure for type 1 Diabetes by raising over $7.5 million to fund Australian diabetes research projects.
Richard rode 168km in 6 hours 7 minutes at an average of 27 kph with his teammates from Medtronic.
‘It was a glorious day and I really had fun.’
Richard would like to thank all who supported him during the fundraising and training. This year the team raised just under $1,700 which is a fantastic effort.
