Dr Su Ling Tee MBChB FRACP is a clinical cardiologist with special interests in advanced heart failure and heart transplantation, cardiac MRI and echocardiography.
Su Ling went into cardiology aware that she wanted to specialise in heart failure. During the later stages of her basic physician training she realised that, when compared to other areas in cardiology, there was little investment in this complex and increasingly common condition. Su Ling is passionate about improving the management of heart failure in SA which she hopes will result in improved mortality and reduced hospitalisation in these patients. She is the first Heart Failure Fellow in South Australia and her long term vision is to see a specialised heart failure centre in our state.
Originally from Malaysia, Su Ling worked in the UK and Singapore before immigrating to Adelaide for her advanced training for which she was awarded the Allen Kerr Prize for Outstanding Advanced Trainee in 2017.
Through her various roles, Su Ling works to increase awareness of heart failure among clinicians, medical students, patients and the general public. Her research has local and international impact and she also lectures at the University of Adelaide. She is currently pursuing an additional fellowship in cardiac MRI.
Su Ling is linguistically fluent in English and Malay as well as several Chinese dialects including Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien and Hiananese. She will be consulting regularly at our Ashford and Morphett Vale clinics.
