The first meeting of the SA Heart Education and Research Foundation was held on 6 May 2010. Dr Bronte Ayres was elected Chairperson, Dr Ian Button deputy Chairperson and Mr Gerry Mak Secretary-Treasurer. The inaugural foundation board also includes Dr Sharmalar Rajendran.
SA Heart has established the SA Heart Education and Research Foundation as an independent, non-profit body for advancing cardiac education and research.
SA Heart has provided the Foundation with seed funding and will make ongoing donations to support the work of the Foundation. Individuals and organisations can make tax deductible donations to the Foundation as well as make bequests. Inquiries should be directed to Gerry Mak on (08) 8297 6888 or gmak@saheart.com.au
